The registration deadline is now?!
The answer is YES. Due to a 60-day in-advance cut-off date for discounted rates and dedicated block of rooms being reserved at Islander Inn Hotel, March 2 is the due date for the 2013 OWO Annual Conference, which runs May 2-5, 2013. After March 2, rooms may still be available, but at the regular spring weekday and weekend rates.
Boats/captains also need to be reserved, refreshments ordered for the hospitality room, meal counts placed, transportation arranged, etc. based upon the number of participants.
Even if you elect to not go fishing on Thursday morning, there are enough Friday morning activities to make everyone want to be there early in order to not miss any of the scheduled member and spice tour stops, Lake Erie ecology presentations, the research vessel science cruise and “lunch with a view” in the Gibraltar Island Cafeteria.
We will hear about the special events scheduled to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie, which helped end the War of 1812.
To accommodate those who have to space out payments to make ends meet, an option for making a partial deposit is being offered. This will still give you credit for making the deadline and getting the discounted rates.
